No. Many of our clients prefer to continue with their day while we attend to their property. If you would prefer to remain home, you are of course welcome to do so.

We offer a variety of secure access arrangements, including meeting you on arrival, lockboxes, concierge access and key collection. For recurring services, and only with your written authorisation, a property key may be securely retained to facilitate future appointments.

All keys are individually coded, stored in a locked safe, and managed exclusively by the Company Director.

Absolutely. El-Khoury Cleaning is fully insured, and every team member undergoes a thorough vetting process, including police checks prior to employment.

For services within childcare and education settings, staff also hold a valid Working With Children Check where required. We understand that inviting someone into your home or workplace is built on trust, and we take that responsibility seriously.

We stand behind the quality of our end-of-lease cleaning services, and the training and experience of our cleaners. Where our recommended end-of-lease package has been completed in full and your property manager or agent identifies any cleaning-related issue within 72 hours of the final inspection, we will return to rectify the affected area at no additional charge.

Please note that our guarantee applies only to cleaning-related criteria included within the agreed scope of work and does not extend to damage, mould remediation or services not included in the original booking.

Do you supply your own equipment and products?

Yes. Our team arrives fully equipped with professional-grade cleaning equipment and carefully selected products from trusted commercial brands, including Vileda Professional, Rubbermaid Commercial Products, Research Products, and Peerless JAL.

For Standard Residential, Recurring Maintenance and Boutique Housekeeping Services, we generally use the client's vacuum cleaner where available. This minimises the transfer of dust, allergens and pet hair between homes while ensuring the vacuum is best suited to your flooring and environment.

Should you prefer us to use our own commercial vacuums, we're more than happy to do so. Our equipment is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected between properties as part of our hygiene procedures and protocols.

If you have preferred cleaning products, fragrance sensitivities or specific surface-care requirements, let us know upon booking, and we'll gladly tailor our approach wherever practical.

Each property is unique. The duration of the clean can depend on many factors including property size, condition, scope of work, additional requests, etc.

Additional or more intensive services - including interior oven cleaning, interior refrigerator cleaning, detailed internal cabinetry, heavy build-up removal and other specialist tasks - can be added to your Maintenance Clean upon request.

Our team is trained in the safe, effective and considered use of a broad range of professional and domestic cleaning products. This training extends beyond simply knowing how to apply a product -our cleaners understand which formulations are appropriate for particular surfaces, how they should be diluted and used, and when a gentler or more specialised product is required to achieve the desired result without unnecessary risk of damage.

Because every property and cleaning requirement is different, it would be difficult to provide a complete list of products used. Depending on the task, our product range may include mild and neutral detergents, alkaline cleaners and degreasers, acidic cleaners and descalers, disinfectants, chlorine-based products, abrasive cleansers, ammonia-based products, solvents and specialist surface-care products. Products are selected according to the surface, level of soiling and intended result, and are used in accordance with manufacturer instructions and safe working practices.

We also maintain a range of lower-impact and environmentally considerate cleaning products for clients who prefer an eco-conscious approach. Where suitable for the task and compatible with the surface being treated, these products can be incorporated into your service upon request.

Clients are also welcome to advise us of fragrance preferences, sensitivities or a preference for fragrance-free products, and our team will accommodate these requirements wherever practicable.

Our team works with a carefully selected mix of professional-grade and high-performing consumer equipment, chosen according to the property, surface and service being completed. Depending on the clean, this may include commercial and domestic vacuum systems, professional flat and spray mops, string mops, microfibre systems, specialist brushes and detailing tools, glass-cleaning equipment, dusting systems, steam cleaning systems and other task-specific accessories.

We use equipment from trusted professional manufacturers, including Vileda Professional and Rubbermaid Commercial, alongside selected consumer products (where they perform exceptionally well for a particular task). For us, the priority is not simply the label on the equipment, but whether it is safe, effective, hygienic and appropriate for the surface being treated.

Our team is trained in the correct use, care and application of each item, including when a particular tool or material should not be used. This helps us achieve a high standard of finish while reducing unnecessary wear or damage to delicate surfaces.

Eco-conscious equipment options

For clients who prefer a more environmentally considered service, we can also substitute selected synthetic cleaning materials with lower-plastic alternatives where practical. This may include cotton cleaning cloths, coconut-fibre sponges and scourers, and other reusable or plant-based cleaning accessories in place of conventional microfibre, nylon or plastic-based products.

However, these alternatives may not be suitable for every cleaning task. Certain surfaces, hygiene requirements or levels of soiling may require a specific material or professional cleaning system to achieve a safe and effective result. Where this applies, our team will always prioritise surface safety, hygiene and cleaning performance while accommodating your preferences wherever reasonably possible.

Colour-Coding System

Clients should note that all our cleaners adhere to our strict colour-code policy. This includes colour coded cloths, sponges, mop heads etc., for specific areas only (e.g., red = toilets only). In this case, equipment is never shared between spaces and a high standard of hygiene is maintained at all times.

Residential Properties

Hygiene does not end when a cleaning service is complete. El-Khoury Cleaning follows a structured process for the handling, laundering and preparation of reusable cleaning materials before they are returned to service.

Reusable items such as cleaning cloths and mop heads are kept separated prior to laundering to help minimise cross-contamination. They are then processed through a dedicated laundering cycle using an oxygen-bleach detergent.

Our laundering process includes:

• 1 pre-wash cycle

• 2 wash cycles, including a thermal-disinfection stage held at 85°C for 15 minutes

• 3 rinse cycles

• Thorough drying following laundering

• A final visual and quality inspection before the item is approved for reuse

Reusable items are not returned to a cleaning kit until they have been fully laundered, dried and inspected.

For areas presenting a greater contamination risk, we take a different approach. Cleaning materials used in toilets, urinals or around biological hazards are treated as single-use items and discarded after use rather than being laundered and transferred between properties.

This allows us to combine the environmental benefits of properly maintained reusable equipment with stricter single-use controls in areas where hygiene and cross-contamination require additional consideration.

Clean equipment is part of a clean service. What happens between properties matters just as much as what happens inside them.

Commercial properties with on-site equipment

Where commercial clients provide on-site cleaning equipment or laundering facilities, El-Khoury Cleaning will still, where reasonably practicable, complete the laundering, hygiene processing and equipment refreshment of our reusable cleaning materials in-house.

This allows us to maintain greater consistency over our laundering procedures, chemical use, thermal disinfection, drying and final quality inspection, rather than relying on varying client-site facilities or processes.

On-site facilities may still be used where required by the nature of the premises, contractual arrangements, infection-control procedures or site-specific requirements. In these situations, our team will follow the applicable site procedures while maintaining El-Khoury Cleaning’s hygiene standards wherever possible.

Wherever possible, the hygiene of our equipment remains under our own control - so the standard stays consistent from one property to the next.
